The Father’s Table plans to start up a new 100,000-sq.-ft. bakery in August.

The company confirms that the new facility, located on Lake Mary Blvd. in Sanford, Fla., will begin producing cream cheese-filled cakes and eventually create up to 50 jobs.

Currently, The Father’s Table operates an 80,000-sq.-ft. operation and employs nearly 230 full-time and 80 temporary workers, the company added.

According to anOrlando Sentinel story, which broke the news, the company’s best selling item is a sampler cake of various decadent desserts such as Mississippi mud pie, strawberry swirl and others. The new bakery will produce new pumpkin and carrot roll cakes as it broadens its product portfolio. The Father’s Table currently produces a variety of cheesecakes, seasonal desserts, single-serve products and petite cheesecakes and pies.

With its profits, the company supports The Father’s Table Foundation, which is a worldwide effort to support charities, primarily those who help women and children.
