J&J Snack Foods Agrees to Buy ConAgra's Handheld Frozen Foods Business
J&J Snack Foods entered into an agreement to acquire the frozen handheld business of ConAgra Foods. The business sells dough-enrobed products sold under the Patio, Hand Fulls, Holly Ridge Bakery, Villa Talialno, Top Picks and private-label brands with manufacturing facilities in Holly Ridge, N.C., and Weston, Ore.
J&J Snack Foods, Pennsauken, N.J., agreed to acquire the frozen handheld business of ConAgra Foods, Omaha, Neb. The two USDA-approved manufacturing facilities offer a wide variety of enrobed products from sweet to savory, healthy and indulgent, as well as individual retail or bulk foodservice packs. Gerald B. Shreiber, president and CEO of J&J Snack Foods says, “We are excited about this opportunity. This is a fine line of products that will expand our portfolio of brands to existing and new venues.”
The deal is expected to be finalized in May. J&J Snack Foods is known for niche snack food offerings. Its products include pretzels, frozen juice bars, soft pretzels, cookies, funnel cakes, fruit bars and more.
