Afton, Minn.-based Suntava Inc., developer of Suntava Purple Corn, has announced a partnership with masa flour pioneer Minsa Corp., located in Muleshoe, Texas, and Red Oak, Iowa.

Working together, the two companies will produce a purple corn chip and table tortilla masa flour ready-made for companies that do not cook their own corn. Soon to be available worldwide, the product will be a combination of the high-quality masa for which Minsa is known and the super high in antioxidant Suntava purple corn.

The purple corn being used is gluten-free, not genetically modified (nonGMO) and grown in the U.S. as well as “nature’s healthiest, highest antioxidant corn,” according to Suntava. It also will soon be available as certified organic.

In addition, with consumer research showing new and novel better-for-you ingredients being a major driver for increased sales, Suntava maintains that its purple corn is ideally suited to meet this need as well.
