The deadline for entering the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) B.E.S.T. in Baking sustainability program is just two days away—June 1.
Sponsored by Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery and Bundy Baking Solutions, the program recognizes suppliers that foster energy conservation, reduced water usage, a decrease in landfill waste, healthy living and/or a reduction of the overall impact on the environment.
Judging criteria will include reduction in distance to transport ingredients, packaging, equipment, a cut in greenhouse gas emissions, use of recycled/recyclable materials, solid sate reductions, energy savings, efficient design and construction, efficient applications, systems and lighting, use of renewable and clean sources of energy and more.
Exhibitors who demonstrate significant environmental sustainability will be recognized in Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery’s preshow guide, in press releases, on IBIE’s website and social media channels and in an onsite display area at IBIE 2013 in Las Vegas on Oct. 6-9.
