Equipment Snapshot: Isuzu Commercial Truck of America’s 2016 NPR Diesel truck features a 13,000-pound gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and a 33.5-inch frame that enable it to offer more capability than previously available in an entry-level Isuzu truck. The frame accepts bodies up to 102 inches wide and 91 inches high, while four wheelbases—109, 132.5, 150 and 176 inches accept body lengths up to 20 feet. The NPR Diesel is powered by a 3.0 liter 4JJ1-TC turbocharged and intercooled diesel engine that produces 150 horsepower and 282 pound-feet of torque at 1,600 to 2,800 rpm. An Aisin A460 six-speed automatic transmission with double overdrive, lock-up torque converter operates in second through sixth gear and is available PTO (power take-off). The truck also has a standard 30-gallon, rear-mounted, in-rail fuel tank and, according to the company, can run on B20 biodiesel fuel.
