Flexible PET lidding films

Equipment Snapshot: Clear Lam has launched several new packaging innovations that maximize on-shelf merchandising.

At the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association™ (IDDBA) Expo in Houston, Texas, June 5-7, Clear Lam introduced new flexible polyethylene terephthalate(PET) lidding films, drink pouches, foamedPET rigid rollstock and the Peel ReSeal lidding system for a variety of food and non-food applications. The products include:

SealChoice™ PET Lidding Films: Clear Lam’s new PET Lidding Films, SP705 and SP707, designed to seal to APET (amorphous polyethylene terephthalate), rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate) and CPET (crystallizable polyethylene terephthalate). Recommended applications include: SealChoice™ SP705 for snack kits, meal kits, produce, milk, lunch meat and personal care items. SealChoice™ SP707 was developed for high pressure pasteurization processing (HPP) of food products such as deli platters, dips, side dishes, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
Drink Pouches are rapidly replacing rigid containers for many food applications because of their lightweight structure and grab-and-go convenience. Clear Lam’s new packaging films absorb distribution abuse, seal through contamination and feature superior graphics. These pouch stock flexible films have been used for a variety of dairy applications, including non-fat yogurt for adults and kids and a variety of Stonyfield yogurt pouches.
Peel & ReSeal Lidding Film: Designed to replace rigid lids and shrink bands, this lidding film provides 30 percent or more weight savings, reducing fuel consumption and increasing cube utilization. The film is hermetically sealed to a rigid or semi-rigid tray and can extend shelf life when combined with micro perforation or modified atmosphere technology. The lidding is ideal for deli, bakery, confectionery and produce packaging, as well as personal healthcare and industrial applications.
Foamed APET and rPET Rollstock: Clear Lam introduced new foamed APET and rPET rigid rollstock. The foamed materials are designed to reduce weight, add durable vertical strength and work with existing recycling programs. A variety of opaque and colored rollstocks are available. Product applications include: meat / seafood trays, produce containers, portion control cups, bakery containers, deli / cheese trays and meal kits.
