PLMA’s Private Label Trade Show continues growth
The Private Label Trade Show, operated by the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA), will take place in Rosemont, IL at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, from November 12–14. The event is just minutes from Chicago and in close proximity to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
PLMA’s Private Label Trade Show has shown continued growth from year to year and is projecting 2017 will be another year of exceptional trade show growth—one that will set new all-time records for size and attendance.
According to PLMA, private label market share has reached nearly 25 percent of unit sales in the U.S. and is expanding faster than national brands. Retailers coast-to-coast have committed themselves to an aggressive store brands strategy while specialty chains are using their own brands to create shopper loyalty unheard of only a few years ago.
Filling three exhibit halls in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, the PLMA show will feature more than 2,700 exhibit booths from store brands manufacturers in virtually every product category imaginable. Companies representing tens of thousands of products, including shelf-stable, fresh, frozen and refrigerated foods, among other products, will be on hand.
Over 5,000 visitors to the show annually include buyers and executives from virtually every major U.S. supermarket and drug chain, mass merchandiser, club, limited assortment, convenience and dollar store, in addition to food and non-foods specialty retailers, foodservice distributors and wholesalers.
Hundreds of international exhibitors and pavilions also offer products from Italy, France, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, Israel, India, South Korea, Vietnam, China and Taiwan, as well as from Canada, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Columbia, Chile and Brazil.
The focus of PLMA’s annual speakers and seminar series will be on the latest research, news headlines and consumer trends and what their impact will be for retailers and their brands.
Each year, PLMA’s New Product Expo provides buyers attending the show a means to help navigate the extensive assortment by putting a spotlight on the newest products and marketing concepts for store brands that are being featured by exhibitors on the trade show floor.
PLMA’s popular Idea Supermarket, meanwhile, showcases store brands programs, products and packaging from more than 50 leading retailers across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
