AB Mauri North America, the owner of the iconic Fleischmann’s Yeast brand, along with ACH Food Companies, the retail distributor of Fleishmann’s Yeast, are sponsoring tasteMAKERS, a new television series on PBS. Hosted by Emmy Award-winning food journalist Cat Neville, the series profiles artisan makers defining the flavor of American food and drink and will debut this fall on PBS stations across the United States.

“It’s such an exciting time to be in the food and beverage industry,” said Rick Oleshak, vice president of marketing, AB Mauri North America. “tasteMAKERS highlights some of the most interesting and innovative people who are shaping and creating what we eat and drink. At AB Mauri, we are passionate about baking, and we are proud to help share these incredible stories with viewers.”

The first 13-episode season explores the burgeoning culinary maker movement, taking viewers from Long Island to Seattle to Chicago to Dallas. Each maker Neville profiles in the series has a unique story to tell that reflects not only the deep connections that exist within the local food community, but also the character of the various corners of the U.S.

To celebrate the launch of the program, tasteMAKERS will also host a series of Meet the Makers live events in Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, San Diego, Raleigh-Durham, Kansas City, Dallas, Houston and Denver. During the 90-minute programs, Neville will interview a variety of people featured on the show, air segments and behind the scenes footage and conduct live cooking demonstrations. As a program sponsor, AB Mauri, its AB Biotek fermentation division and ACH Companies will be participating in these events and inviting employees and customers to attend the celebrations.

“We couldn’t create quality public television without the support of our sponsors,” said Neville, host and creator of tasteMAKERS. “Fleischmann’s Yeast was an early innovator in the food industry, and we consider it a great honor to have the brand associated with the series. Together, we look forward to sharing the stories of the people shaping and inspiring what we consume.”

The Fleischmann’s Yeast brand is the oldest baker’s yeast company and the first standardized commercial yeast in the U.S. Introduced in 1868 by enterprising Austrian brewer, Charles Fleischmann, and his brother, Maximilian, Fleischmann’s Yeast is now part of AB Mauri’s portfolio of products. This year marks the brand’s 150th anniversary.
