Bay Area food innovation company Voyage Foods, maker of cocoa-free chocolate, has closed a round of $52M, bringing its total funding to $94M.

The commercial partnership will provide food manufacturers with nut spreads produced with no nut or dairy allergens used in the recipe formulation.

The sandwiches are made with Rudi’s bread and Voyage’s Roasted Seed Spread.

Voyage Foods has released a life cycle assessment for Cocoa-Free “Milk” and Semi-Sweet Chocolate demonstrating environmental benefits over traditional chocolate.

The expansion will see the brand's Peanut-Free and Hazelnut-Free Spreads released into over 1200 Walmart stores nationwide and on Walmart.com this October.
