Flavorful Sweepstakes
Jelly Belly Candy Company’s “What’s Your Favorite Flavor?” national consumer promotion sweepstakes, running through July, offers a grand prize valued up to $25,000.
Special promotional packages of 3.5-, 7- and 9-ounce
and 2-pound bags of Jelly Belly Assorted, Sours, Tropical Mix and Fruit
Bowl Flavors shipped through March 2005 were printed with unique access
codes that allow consumers to enter the sweepstakes online.
In addition, 3,000 Jelly Belly Bean Machines will be
awarded for instant win tokens found inside the larger packages.
Using the access codes printed inside each package,
consumers go online to select a favorite flavor. The grand prize will be
keyed to the flavor—for instance, a vote for Cappuccino could win
someone a vacation to Italy; or a vote for Very Cherry could win someone a
cherry red automobile. One winner will be randomly selected.

Masterfoods’ Starburst brand is targeting teen
cell phone users with its “More Juice for More Burst”
promotional campaign.
Specially marked packages of Starburst Fruit Chews
feature a short promotional code, which can be entered as a text message.
Across any cell phone carrier and online at
starburst.com, users can find out instantly via a return message if
they’ve won a prize such as a flat-screen television.
With more than 60 million on-pack impressions, the
contest is the largest short messaging service, cross-carrier campaign for
a U.S. consumer products company.
Since the promotion was introduced in April, text
messaging has accounted for 40 percent more traffic than anticipated.
Sour Punch Straws and
DC Comics Partner
American Licorice Company has teamed its Sour Punch
Straws brand with DC Comics’ TEEN TITANS for an
“instant-win” sweepstakes promotion. Grand prize is a
three-day, two-night trip for four to New York, a trip to DC Comics’
headquarters, the opportunity to be drawn into a TEEN TITANS GO! comic
book, $1,000 and a TEEN TITANS adventure pack.
The company will award 100 first-prize TEEN TITANS
Adventure Packs with toys, comic books, watches and Sour Punch candy; and
2,500 second-prize winners will receive a 2-ounce package of Sour Punch
candy.
Starting this past March, specially marked 2- and
4.5-ounce packages of Sour Punch Straws featuring TEEN TITAN graphics have
contained chances to win.

Breezin’ on the Beach
Cadbury Adams USA LLC has signed a partnership
agreement with the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour making Halls Fruit
Breezers an official sponsor of the AVP Nissan Series for the 2005 season.
The AVP Tour features more than 150 of the top
American men and women competitors in the sport. All 14 tournaments on the
April-to-November tour will be televised live or the same day on either Fox
Sports Net or NBC Sports.
Halls Fruit Breezers will have a presence at every
event.
