A new bulk material handling system from process equipment manufacturer Automated Flexible Conveyor (AFC) integrates the company’s sanitary SPIRALFEEDER flexible screw conveyor with its hygienic IBC powder container as a single unit.
Designed to streamline staging ahead of production, the system enables a single operator to safely and automatically transfer dry bulk solids from floor level into the intermediate bulk container, dust-free, at the press of a button. Materials may be discharged and weighed as needed, or the filled container may be moved by forklift using built-in fork tubes.
Suitable for food facilities, the portable system features a stainless steel infeed hopper and screw auger with continuous welds and polished finish, set inside an FDA/USDA-approved UHMW polyethylene outer tube. The companion IBC sets an FDA-compliant polyethylene container within a powder-coated steel frame. Together, the sealed system protects materials from contamination and prevents dust from escaping into the workplace.
The sanitary SPIRALFEEDER and powder containers are custom-designed, manufactured, and assembled at the company’s NJ facility. Product and material testing are available in the on-site test lab.
