Balchem launches StabiliPro
The clean-label excipient line addresses formulation challenges for probiotic foods.

Balchem has launched StabiliPro, a new excipient portfolio designed to enhance probiotic stability and extend shelf life in dietary supplements, functional foods, and beverages. The line will debut at SupplySide Global 2025, held Oct. 27–30 in Las Vegas, NV.
Developed to address formulation challenges in the growing probiotic market, StabiliPro helps maintain probiotic integrity during processing and storage, reducing the need for overages in finished products. The excipients are designed to support clean-label packaging and enable more efficient, shelf-stable formulations.
“The probiotics market is growing rapidly and shows no signs of slowing down, so solutions like StabiliPro are essential in ensuring that functional food, beverage, and dietary supplement innovators can achieve effective, cost-efficient formulations to meet the demands of today’s health-conscious consumers,” says Josephine Nakhla, strategic marketing and business development manager at Balchem, powders and cereal. “Building on decades of particle engineering expertise, StabiliPro is an exciting addition to our already extensive portfolio of food and beverage ingredient solutions.”
The global probiotics market, currently valued at $73 billion, is projected to reach $110 billion by 2030. As consumer interest in gut health, immunity, and overall wellness grows, manufacturers face increasing pressure to deliver stable, research-backed products. Probiotic viability remains a key challenge, particularly in high-moisture and high-temperature environments. Excipients like StabiliPro play a critical role in preserving probiotic function throughout a product’s shelf life.
Balchem will present findings from a new study on StabiliPro’s performance at the Product Development Theater on Oct. 30 at 11:30 a.m. PDT. The session, titled StabiliPro Advantage: Unlocking More Shelf-Stable Probiotic Formulations, will explore how the excipient line supports formulation efficiency and product integrity.
