2025 IBIE review: Snapshots from the world of baking
November 11, 2025The International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE), the Western Hemisphere’s largest event serving the retail and wholesale baking industries, returned to Las Vegas September 13 to 17. The event brought together thousands of global baking professionals from across the retail and wholesale baking to meet with more than 1,000 exhibiting companies on a sold-out show floor—the largest in the 105-year history of the event. Exhibitors showcased the latest advancements in bakery technology, ingredients, equipment, and packaging solutions.
The show hosted its largest education program ever, with more than 250 sessions and demonstrations. Programming included a vast range of topics, including AI, automation, product innovation, and scaling small to medium-sized businesses, collectively empowering baking businesses to thrive in an ever-evolving marketplace.
IBIE 2025 reinforced its reputation as the must-attend event for baking industry professionals worldwide, delivering unmatched business opportunities, education, and inspiration. As the industry looks forward to its next gathering, IBIE invites bakers, manufacturers, and suppliers to mark their calendars for September 10 to 13, 2028, when the Expo will once again unite the baking world in Las Vegas.

IBIE, in collaboration with Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery, recognized more than 65 industry suppliers and bakeries that have achieved particularly notable milestones in sustainability, sustainable packaging innovation, sanitation, workforce development, plant efficiency, and automation & robotics. Honored companies included New Horizons Baking Co. (pictured), a category winner for Automation & Robotics, for its Smart Autonomous Bun Production System. Teams from Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, Mexico, and the U.S. brought world-class skill and creativity to the competition, with just two advancing to the world finals in Paris: Team Canada (first place) and Team USA (second place).

Debuting at IBIE 2025, the Panettone World Cup competition showcased top pastry chefs from across the Western Hemisphere celebrating the art and heritage of panettone baking, with winners advancing to the World Final in Milan, Italy, competing for the global grand championship. Winners in the Traditional category were Martinez Jaime from the U.S. and Emmidio Isernia of Canada. Winners in the Chocolate category were Flores Torres Wilson of Ecuador and Vielma Ammary Coromoto from the U.S.

The Great American Pie Festival on the IBIE show floor featured a variety of ready-made pies available from baking manufacturers. The pies sampled at the event were crafted with different cutting, filling, and baking equipment to demonstrate technological capabilities related to the category. IBIE produces The Great American Pie Festival in partnership with the American Pie Council.
