Messe Frankfurt has purchased Modern Bakery Moscow from OWP Ost-West-Partner GmbH fair and exhibition company, Nuremberg, Germany, effective July 15.

“Russia is one of the world’s key markets for the fair and exhibition business,” says Wolfgang Marzin, president and CEO, Messe Frankfurt. “OWP has built up the biggest trade fair for the bakery and confectionery sector in Russia, with great personal commitment on the part of its management and staff. Thus, the foundation for Modern Bakery Moscow could not be better.

“Modern Bakery Moscow is the only trade fair in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) that covers the complete spectrum of baking and confectionery products, including all associated fields. The entire sector, from small artisan pâtissiers to industrial bakers, manufacturers, service companies and the trade, meets at Modern Bakery Moscow.”

The April 2014 edition of the tradeshow attracted more than 14,500 visitors and 212 exhibitors from 22 countries, 53% of which came from outside Russia.
