Grant N. Pierce, Ph.D., executive director of research at St. Boniface Hospital, and professor of physiology and pharmacy at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba, will present his flaxseed research at Engredea 2015, to be held March 4-8 at the Hilton Anaheim and Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.

Pierce will present the results of the Flax-PAD Study, a one-year, double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial that examined flaxseed’s impact on blood pressure in patients diagnosed with peripheral arterial disease. The study found significant blood pressure reduction among study participants instructed to ingest flaxseed daily. Pierce will explain the significance and potential impact of this finding to attendees during a presentation on March 7 at 11 a.m. at the Anaheim Marriott in Grand Salon A/B.

J.G. Pizzey Inc., Russell, Manitoba, is co-sponsoring Pierce’s presentation.
