Equipment Snapshot: AAF International has launched an improved version of its OptiFlo cartridge collector. OptiFlo RC features several design enhancements, including a patented active mandrel to enhance filtration efficiency and a quick-release door for easy maintenance and minimal leakage. According to the company, the new AAF cartridge support mechanism not only provides support for the filter cartridge, it also improves cleaning efficiency. When combined with the REDClean cartridge, the entire cartridge is cleaned, reducing the use of compressed air. REDClean uses advanced nanofiber technology to deliver superior dust holding and dust release properties, says the company, which in turn lowers pressure drop. Reduced compressed air use increases cartridge service life and offers savings on the total cost of plant ownership.
