While 2025 threw an entire combo platter of formidable challenges at the baking industry, overcoming sky-high obstacles is something professionals in the grain-based foods field are very much used to. 

The org has spent the past year investing in new tools, resources, and relationships designed to strengthen industry engagement.

Tariffs, labor shortages, regulatory issues, and other issues continue to frustrate industry professionals, but bakers keep showing resilience.

From bread and tortillas to cookies, crackers, and cakes, commercial bakers produce foods that are a foundational part of the American diet and daily life, the org says.

At the ABA’s recent 2026 Convention, Eric Dell and Brian LeComte shared their perspectives on issues facing the field, as well as the resilience of bakers.

All award recipients were recognized onstage during a dedicated ceremony and invited to an Awardee Reception at the org's Convention on April 22.  

The bakery industry org elected its 2026-28 executive committee and board of directors during its Annual Member Meeting at Convention.

The awards, given during the ABA 2026 convention, are given out to companies that make a difference in three categories: Community, Workplace, and Planet.

The newly formed group merges the association’s former Commodity and Agricultural Policy Professionals Group and Logistics Professionals Group.

The association is aiming to further position itself to ensure an impactful and high-level experience for its membership, it says.
