The American Bakers Association (ABA) elected the organization’s 2026-28 executive committee and board of directors during the Annual Member Meeting at the ABA Convention. Together, these leaders will aim to guide the association’s strategic priorities and continue strengthening critical advocacy initiatives on behalf of the commercial baking industry.

The ABA board elected the following members to serve on the executive committee:

  • Chair: Brian LeComte, president and COO of Gold Medal Bakery
  • First vice chair: Joe Turano, president of Turano Baking Co.
  • Treasurer: Tyson Yu, CEO of Aspire Bakeries
  • At-large member: Greg Koehrsen, president of Bimbo Bakeries USA
  • At-large member: Ryals McMullian, chairman and CEO of Flowers Foods
  • At-large member: Trina Bediako, CEO of New Horizons Baking
  • Immediate past chair: William Quigg, president and CEO of Richmond Baking

“We are fortunate to welcome this exceptional group of leaders to the ABA executive committee and board of directors,” said Eric Dell, president and CEO of ABA. “Their collective expertise, future focused vision, and deep commitment to baking manufacturing come at a pivotal moment. As ABA advances key priorities to support the industry, these leaders will play a critical role in driving progress and ensuring a strong, innovative future for all of commercial baking.”

“I’m honored to step into the role of ABA Chair and grateful for the trust the membership has placed in me,” says LeComte. “Building on the strong momentum we’ve created, I’m committed to working with my fellow board members to ensure ABA continues to serve as the leader, unifier, and forward- looking voice for the industry.”

In addition, ABA elected four members to the 2026-28 board of directors:

Jesse Amoroso is the president and chief operating officer at Amoroso’s Baking Company, where he represents the fifth generation of family leadership. He has held a variety of roles across the organization, contributing to the company’s continued growth and operational success. In addition to his leadership at Amoroso’s, he has been actively involved in industry initiatives, previously serving as co-chair of the American Bakers Association’s NextGen Baker program and on the board of directors for the Independent Bakers Association.

“I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve on the ABA board of directors,” says Amoroso. “It is a  privilege to contribute, and I look forward to bringing my multi-generational perspective to  strengthen member engagement, help cultivate the next generation of industry leaders,  support ABA’s advocacy efforts, advance workforce development, and contribute to sustainable solutions that will shape the industry’s long-term future.”

William Bundy has spent his career with Bundy Baking Solutions, beginning his journey with the company at the age of sixteen. Over the years, he has taken on increasing  leadership responsibilities and played a key role in strengthening the company’s global  operations and customer partnerships. Bundy has been instrumental in expanding the company’s international presence, particularly in Europe and Asia, and has worked closely with teams across the organization to build a strong and growing footprint in Europe and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

“I am honored to join the ABA board and serve this great industry that our family loves and respects so deeply. I look forward to supporting the work that keeps the baking industry strong, visible, and positioned for the future,” comments Bundy.

Yianny Caparos is the chief executive officer at Crown Bakeries, where he leads the  company’s strategic growth and operational initiatives. Prior to becoming CEO, Caparos served as president of Crown Bakeries and has built strong customer relationships across the commercial baking industry while driving operational excellence and innovation within the organization. Caparos brings extensive industry expertise and leadership experience to the role and is widely recognized for his contributions to the baking community. He has been honored as a member of the American Society of Baking (ASB) Hall of Fame.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on the ABA board. Eric Dell is a tremendous leader and I look forward to contributing towards ABA’s strategic plan for our fine industry,” says Caparos.

Carrie Jones-Barber is the chief executive officer at Dawn Foods, with more than thirty years at the company, she has played a pivotal role in shaping Dawn into a global leader in sweet bakery products, with operations serving customers in more than 100 countries  worldwide. Since becoming CEO in 2006, Jones-Barber has led the company through significant growth, including major international expansion and strategic acquisitions. Prior to becoming CEO, Jones-Barber served as president of Dawn International, where she oversaw the company’s international operations and drove strong growth and profitability.

Throughout her career at Dawn, she has held leadership roles across sales, information technology, strategy, and global business operations.

“I am excited to continue my work on the ABA board. The work that we do is meaningful and important for our industry, especially in these volatile times,” notes Jones-Barber.

ABA extends its sincere gratitude to outgoing board members ABA Past Chair Cordia Harrington, CEO at Crown Bakeries, and Tim Cook, CEO at Silver Spur Strategies, for their dedicated service and invaluable contributions to the association.
