The International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE), commonly known as the Baking Expo, has announced the return of The Rockin’ Pint concert series on Sunday, September 14, at 5 pm. Presented by AB Mauri North America, this year's Rockin' Pint promises an even bigger and better experience than the inaugural event in 2022, IBIE says, featuring a headlining performance by 1980s chart-toppers Wang Chung, followed by an after-party set from baker and television personality Duff Goldman and his band Foie Grock.
The concert, taking place in the West Hall Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center, highlights the opening day of the Expo, which brings together baking professionals from all segments of the grain-based industry for the Western Hemisphere's largest event for bakers, held September 14-17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“We are thrilled to add The Rockin’ Pint Night to IBIE’s already stellar programming and expand the concert lineup even further,” says Jorge Zarate, IBIE Chair. “It’s been three years since our industry has come together, and there’s no better way to kick off the show than with an evening of great music, cold drinks, and networking with friends and colleagues.”
Wang Chung, a British new wave band known for their numerous 80s hits including “Everybody Have Fun Tonight,” “Dance Hall Days,” “Let's Go!,” and more, will take the stage from 5 to 6 pm. Formed by Jack Hues and Nick Feldman, the band achieved significant success in the U.S. during the 1980s with their blend of pop, rock, funk, and electronic styles. Their influence is highlighted in the band’s soon-to-be-released career retrospective album, “Clear Light, Dark Matter.”
Building upon the success of the previous Rockin' Pint featuring Duff Goldman's Foie Grock, the addition of the 80s hitmakers Wang Chung underscores the commitment to providing exceptional and unique experiences at IBIE, the conference says. Following their performance, legendary baker and bass guitarist Duff Goldman and his band Foie Grock will keep the 80s vibes going with a high-energy after-party set of covers from 6 to 7 pm. The band is expected to cover hits from 1980s chart toppers, including Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Billy Idol, INXS, Men at Work, Rush, Van Halen and more.
A household name thanks to his many Food Network series throughout the years, Duff Goldman first rose to fame on the popular series Ace of Cakes, earning two James Beard Award nominations. He is an pastry chef, best-selling author, TV personality, and owner of the renowned bakery, Charm City Cakes, known for creating spectacular cake creations. Today, Goldman's personality and culinary talents have led him to be a fixture on Food Network's highly-rated Baking Championship franchise, earning multiple Emmy nominations.
“AB Mauri is thrilled to partner with IBIE to bring this one-of-a-kind event to the baking community,” says Rick Oleshak, vice president of marketing, AB Mauri North America. “To kick off opening night of IBIE with the Rockin' Pint Night perfectly embodies our company’s passion for baking and commitment to fostering connections within the industry. Where else can you see a rock star lineup of awesome ‘80s tunes and both raise a glass to the baking industry and reconnect with colleagues from around the globe.”
Admission to The Rockin' Pint show is a $10 add-on to IBIE 2025 registration. This cost includes a limited-edition commemorative lanyard available for pickup on Sept. 14 inside AB Mauri’s primary exhibit in the West Hall (Booth #1545).
