AAK, an ingredient supplier of value-adding specialty fats and oils, recently highlighted its latest innovation, AAK Cebes 2900 NH series. This blend of palm kernel and palm oils aims to add a touch of indulgence to any chocolatey treat. It is non-hydrogenated with a reportedly smooth melt profile.

“The Cebes 2900 NH series is our latest compound coating fat designed to help manufacturers create delightfully delicious confectionery products,” says Ryan Branch, sr. marketing manager, AAK USA, Inc. “This non-hydrogenated solution makes it easy to create cleaner label items while still maintaining the taste and texture consumers expect of chocolatey treats. AAK’s bloom-delaying formulation ensures a smooth, clean taste while lower viscosity and yield value improve flow and production efficiency. It’s a win-win ingredient for formulators in the development phases who seek easier enrobing and cost savings.”

According to the company, Cebes 29-54 NH's qualities include:

  • Non-hydrogenated – Aligns with better-for-you consumer preferences while maintaining taste and texture 
  • Smooth melt profile – High-performing fat 
  • Good bloom resistance – Helps maintain visual appeal and quality of the confectionery product
  • Good gloss retention – Gives the product an appealing finish that attracts customers and helps with overall stability 
  • Quick crystallization – Streamlines production, so confectioners can achieve operational efficiency
  • Enhanced flow properties – Offers easier handling, pumping, and overall better flow properties, plus it’s formulated to use without tempering, contributing to cost savings
