Volkmann introduces VFD 100 system
Developed for food applications, the feeder eliminates batch-to-batch variation.

Volkmann USA has introduced the VFD 100 Vibratory Feeder Dosing System. Designed to integrate weighing, feeding, and dosing in a single unit, the system gently and continuously feeds powders, pellets, granules, and other free-flowing bulk materials into mixers, extruders, and similar equipment. The feeder supports volumetric feeding and can be adjusted for loss-in-weight (LIW) dosing to deliver precise quantities. This approach eliminates batch-to-batch variation due to human error.
Developed for food applications, the VFD 100 receives material from the company’s pneumatic vacuum conveyor and applies a gentle vibrating action to create a uniform layer. Positioned on a built-in platform scale, the material moves through an enclosed discharge chute in a first-in, first-out process designed to minimize degradation, separation, and contamination.
The feeder is suitable for installation in FDA-regulated facilities and meets ATEX requirements for explosion-proof operation. The system may be tested at the company’s Bristol, PA facility with a fully operational pneumatic vacuum conveying setup.
