Little Debbie celebrates 40 years of Christmas Tree Cakes
In recognition of the seasonal product, McKee Foods is launching a giveaway.

McKee Foods, maker of Little Debbie snacks, is recognizing the 40th anniversary of the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake, first introduced in 1985. The seasonal product has become a recurring holiday item for many U.S. households.
The snack features a tree-shaped design, red and green sprinkles, and layered cake. Over the years, it has expanded to include variations such as Chocolate Christmas Tree Cakes.
“To us, the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake is more than just a snack—it’s a memory-maker,” says Kenny Hammontree, Little Debbie brand manager. “We’re honored to know our cakes have been part of countless family celebrations, parties, and holiday traditions across the country.”
To mark the anniversary, McKee Foods is releasing updated packaging with a 40th anniversary badge, a new Santa illustration, and a back panel highlighting past packaging designs. The company is also launching a 40 Days of Christmas Giveaway, offering consumers a chance to win seasonal products.
Additional seasonal items include a limited collection of branded merchandise available online, such as a Christmas Tree Cake blanket, LED tree, earrings, and collectible magnet. The collection also includes holiday-themed ornaments and stickers featuring other Little Debbie products.
McKee Foods is also promoting holiday recipes using its snack cakes, including the Christmas Tree Cake Dip, available at littledebbie.com.
“As we look ahead to the next 40 years, we remain committed to creating quality, delicious treats that help make every season special,” says Hammontree.
