The snack is a nod to the three copies of chromosome 21 that define Down syndrome.

Prospector Popcorn is bringing back its popular Down to Sparkle popcorn blend in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day, the company says. The unique flavor features 21 ingredients, a nod to the three copies of chromosome 21 that define Down syndrome. Seventy-five percent of Prospector Popcorn's staff self-identifies with a disability, including Down syndrome and others.
The blend has become a meaningful way for the Prospector team to celebrate the holiday and highlight the importance of inclusive employment for people with disabilities, it says.
"Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day gives us the opportunity to highlight a workforce that brings tremendous value and sparkle at The Prospector. The flavor, Down to Sparkle, features 21 unique ingredients that symbolize World Down Syndrome Day’s March 21 date. Created just a few years ago for this celebration, the response continues to be incredible, with orders from all over the country," shares Adam Ingberman, director sales and strategy, Prospector Popcorn.
