McKee Foods’ Little Debbie brand has announced the launch of its Chocolate Old Fashioned Donuts. According to the producer, the new item comes after consumers responded positively to the June 2025 introduction of its original Big Pack Old Fashioned Donuts.

The brand reports that the successful introduction of the original Old Fashioned Donut last summer demonstrated consumer preference for bakery-style classics. Since hitting shelves in June 2025, the original variety reportedly has seen good retail performance, as consumers have embraced the combination of nostalgic texture and modern convenience.

"We saw an incredible response to the Old Fashioned Donut we introduced last year. We’re doubling down on what works and giving both loyalists and new fans an irresistible reason to head back to the store," says Scott Brownlow, Little Debbie Brand manager. 

The Chocolate Old Fashioned Donuts offer a chocolate flavor profile paired with golden-brown ridges and a moist, crumbly texture that defines an old-fashioned cake doughnut. Little Debbie is launching this treat in both bulk and on-the-go formats:

●    The Big Pack Carton: the box contains six doughnuts in a retro-inspired package designed to pay homage to the brand’s heritage

●    Single-Serve Offering: the 3-oz, individually wrapped Chocolate Old Fashioned Donut is geared toward on-the-go snacking, with a morning coffee, midday break, or other occasion.

The Chocolate Old Fashioned Donut, according to the company, features a rich chocolate flavor that captures the nostalgia of a traditional cake donut, finished with a sweet glaze. The products currently are rolling out to retailers, grocery stores, and convenience stores nationwide, joining the original Old Fashioned Donut as a permanent offering.
