ABA, Intertek Alchemy expand access to baking education
The orgs are providing operators with access to industry-developed training.

The American Bakers Association (ABA) and Intertek Alchemy have come together to make ABA’s Bakers Manufacturing Academy available through the Alchemy Training System as the ABA Baking Skills Library. This aims to provide bakery operators with convenient access to industry-developed technical training designed to strengthen workforce knowledge, improve operational consistency, and confidently execute baking processes across every shift.
Through this collaboration, Alchemy customers can now add ABA’s baking curriculum directly into their employees’ training plans. On Intertek Alchemy’s platform, the ABA Baking Skills Library combines foundational baking education with product-specific and process-focused training, helping bakeries standardize knowledge across facilities, shifts, and teams.
This partnership strives to advance ABA’s Strategic Plan goal of establishing the commercial baking industry as a destination workplace by equipping baking manufacturers with the workforce development resources that support employee recruitment, retention, engagement, and career growth. By making trusted industry training more accessible, ABA and Intertek Alchemy are helping employers strengthen workforce capabilities while creating greater opportunities for employees to build long-term careers in baking, the orgs say.
“ABA is committed to helping baking companies build skilled, confident workforces through accessible, high-quality training,” says Samantha Moore, VP of events and programming at the American Bakers Association. “Developing and retaining talent is essential to our vision of making commercial baking a destination workplace. By partnering with Intertek Alchemy, we are extending the reach of our training programs and making it easier for bakery teams to access the knowledge and resources they need to improve consistency, reduce waste, and support long-term success.”
"At Intertek Alchemy, we believe better business performance starts with confident, capable frontline employees," says Ali Knapp, president of Intertek People Assurance. "By bringing ABA's trusted baking curriculum into the Alchemy Training System, we're making it easier for bakeries to deliver consistent, high-quality training at scale. Together, we're helping customers strengthen workforce capability, improve operational consistency, and give employees the knowledge they need to succeed every day."
These online training courses provide industry-specific, technical education for bakery production employees at multiple skill levels. The courses will focus on training for bread, hamburger, and hot dog buns; variety hearth breads; cookies and crackers; sheeting and laminating; wire-cut cookies; rotary cookies and crackers, and sandwich cookies and crackers.
