Innovative marketer retires after nearly 30 years.
After nearly three decades working at King’s Hawaiian, Shelby Weeda officially retired last month to pursue other opportunities. During Weeda’s tenure as president, King’s Hawaiian grew from a small regional company to a national brand with more than $110 million in annual revenue.
According to Mark Taira, CEO and president of the Torrance, Calif.-based company, Weeda expanded the brand into new channels that created a momentum that “has provided an amazing path for our executive team.”
”As we enter 2010, which marks our 60th anniversary, we have a tremendous record of success upon which to continue building,” Taira says. “We offer our gratitude and well wishes to Shelby as he begins this next chapter of his life.”
