Dorner Manufacturing’s 7600 Ultimate Series is engineered for environments with high-pressure sanitation requirements. It comes with a positive-driven, Mol Industries, USDA-approved solid urethane belt for consistent operation in humid environments. The platform features solid stainless-steel rounded cross-members to eliminate horizontal surfaces where bacteria can form. The 7600 Ultimate is the latest conveyor platform in the AquaPruf family of sanitary conveyors, which can be disassembled for cleaning without tools in 30 seconds.
The Flow International water jet is a state-of-the-art 87,000-psi system that provides faster cutting speeds and features control allowing for tolerances up to .004 in. The machine can handle parts up to 6 ft. wide, 12 ft. long and more than 8 in. thick, with materials ranging from steel to wood to stone.

Coolmore Foods, West Cork, Ireland, has increased its baking capacity by 50% after adopting Auto-Bake’s Serpentine continuous convection baking technology. The compactness of Serpentine ovens and baking systems are the result of the vertical S-shaped configuration transport system. This allows product to be conveyed horizontally through numerous precision-controlled convection zones and results in an oven that occupies approximately one-tenth the footprint of legacy tunnel oven technology.
Hinds-Bock single or multiple spout/pump models are ideal for flowable products such as sauces, dressings, jellies, condiments, and bakery fillings. The servo controller makes changing from one size container to another quick and easy. The sanitary pumps are lean-in-place units, and a variety of spouts are available. Options include a diving spout bridge for bottom-up filling, conveyors, and rotary unscrambler and accumulator tables.
FMC FoodTech’s new proportional gate system separates product from the main product stream, continuously distributing regulated quantities to each scale feeder. The gate itself has a v-shaped opening through which allotted amounts of product is effectively fed to the scale feeders. By maintaining a uniform product depth, the proportional gate system reduces over- and underseasoning of product. The system gives manufacturers greater flexibility by regulating product quantities so they match each individual scale and packaging system.
Hinds-Bock single and dual piston fillers feature large port openings and gentle internal passages, making them ideal for delicate products such as 4+1 sliced or whole strawberries, fruit or vegetable fillings, or deli salads. The large port openings permit filling of chunky ingredients without crushing, reducing costs with accurate filling/depositing into trays, bottles, cans, or pouches, or targeted onto product. They are USDA- and AG Canada-approved.
FMC FoodTech’s new Libra Seasoning Control System combines product weighing and seasoning. A vibratory feeder is mounted on load cells that continuously weigh the base product flowing into the seasoning drum. As the product weight flow rate fluctuates, the seasoning controller adjusts the seasoning rate. The controller can be adjusted for speed and can accommodate liquid and dry applications. The system’s sanitary design features a well-contained, easy-to-clean solid channel vibratory feeder trough.
The J.E. Grote Co.’s FPS-1000 Slicer is suited for bulk bread product slicing. The Accuband band blade cutting system slices bread products at speeds of up to 120 strokes/minute/lane. With a cutting width of 30 in., multiple lanes can be sliced onto a process belt simultaneously. Output depends on product diameter, with capacities of more than 1,300 slices per minute achievable on smaller (2-in.) products.
NuTEC’s C-Frame Depositors provide portion weight control and filling placement. The 725 model features a 300-lb. hopper, can deposit products up to 1 3/8-in. thick and is for line widths up to 13 in. The 745 model features a 400-lb. hopper, can deposit products up to 1-in. thick and is for line widths from 13 to 24 in. The 790 features a 600-lb. hopper, can deposit products up to 1-in. thick and is for line widths from 24 to 40 in.
Packaging Systems Automation Inc.’s IM612 intermittent motion flexible cartoner with a 6- to 12-in. pitch provides maintenance-free, chainless carton transfer; a rugged but smooth-operating mechanical drive; a servo-driven infeed and loader; quick changeovers; a 6-ft. hopper; overload protection; ergonomic design; operator friendliness and speeds of up to 45 cartons per minute. It is available in painted carbon steel or stainless steel construction and can be outfitted with servos in lieu of mechanical/pneumatic drives.

The Vertek Jr. from WeighPack stands 4 ft. tall, making it the most compact and simple vertical form/seal on the market. It easily interfaces with any type of filling equipment, offers speeds of up to 50 cycles per minute and is ideal for bagging of variety of products, including snack foods. It also handles bag sizes from 1 in. to 5 in. wide and can seal either polyethylene or laminated films.
Fritsch’s latest dough sheeting machines — the ROLLFIX 300 and 600 — offer new features and practical improvements, such as a flour duster that doesn’t require lifting operation, a quick belt release for easy cleaning and maintenance and a roller gap that has been widened to 45 mm. to allow bakers to start with thicker dough sheet. The redesigned protective covers are bigger, as well. ROLLFIX 600 also offers a new color touchscreen control panel, an ergonomically optimized user interface and a frequency controlled belt drive, among other features.
Charles Ross and Son Co. has added a new model to its line of high-speed dispersers. It features a dust-tight cover with enclosed charging openings carries solids to the mixing vessel. It also includes fixed connections for charging of raw materials directly from bulk solids transfer systems. Typical uses for the new system are for dispersion of solids such as fumed silica, calcium carbonate, titanium dioxide, gums, thickeners and pigments.
Cambridge International introduces DuraLite Belts, which are well suited for spiral cage applications. The wear-resistant stainless steel belt design is stronger than other belting designs, thus offering greater carrying capacity, smoother operating performance and dramatically fewer breakdowns.
