September 2014: Equipment Briefs
The DynaClean transfer conveyor from Dynamic Conveyor is designed for short transfers of food products in or out of food-processing equipment, moving product horizontally or at a slight angle on plastic, link-style belting. The model has a conveyor profile that allows it to fit into tight spaces. It’s also designed for quick and easy cleaning and sanitation. The modular, maintenance-free belt can be removed in seconds without tools, giving operators complete exposure to the inside of the system. Variable- or single-speed, sealed, maintenance-free motors allow for high-pressure washdowns. One-dimensional leg supports prevent the hidden buildup of bacteria.

Room sanitization system
Dow Microbial Control, a business unit of the Dow Chemical Co., recently released new data from several studies that further demonstrates the efficacy of the Dow Advanced Oxidation System (AOS) Certified Whole Room Sanitization (WRS) for food processing and packaging environments. The AOS Certified WRS is sustainable, the company says, and capable of reducing and controlling pathogens on surfaces and in the air. The system creates ozone vapor on-demand using ambient air and water, eliminating the need to ship and store chemicals. AOS Certified WRS fills the atmosphere with a non-condensing ozone humidity that infiltrates even difficult-to-reach areas that conventional sanitation methods often miss.
