BNP Media, Troy, MI, announces that Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery (SF&WB)—serving the volume snack and wholesale bakery industries for more than a century—made a strategic staffing move to usher in a new era of growth for the brand.

Effective immediately, Chris Luke assumes the role of publisher, and Douglas J. Peckenpaugh takes on the responsibilities of chief editor. Both have significant backgrounds in B2B publishing and will bring immediate, noticeable impact to the brand.

Luke has spent 26 years in B2B media across multiple industries, holding sales, publisher and group publisher roles. He will work closely with Peckenpaugh and other members of the content team to create environments that provide significant value and benefit to the day-to-day business of the SF&WB audience, while simultaneously providing new opportunities for advertising and marketing partners. A core initiative for Luke will be to grow the SF&WB digital space, while continuing to bolster the strength of print.

Peckenpaugh has 20 years of publishing experience following the food industry from farm to fork, covering agriculture, aquaculture, ingredient processing, food product R&D, chain-restaurant menu development and grocery retail branding. Over the past decade, he has focused exclusively on the B2B food industry, with senior roles at Food Product Design and Culinology magazines, and most recently as editor-in-chief of PLBuyer. His sophisticated understanding of print and digital publishing, social networks, and digital content deployment—as well as his intimate knowledge of the snack and bakery industries—will reveal multiple new opportunities designed to bring the best-possible content, in the best-possible formats, to the SF&WB audience.

“When Chris and Doug became available at BNP Media, we immediately saw an opportunity to strengthen an already strong SF&WB brand,” says group publisher Tom Imbordino. “They are two of the most talented managers at our company and within B2B publishing. Their strong leadership and vision will help ensure our future success as they grow the channels for our content and deliver superior reach and products for industry marketers.”
