interpack 2017: The total package for the industry

interpack 2017
December 1, 2016

interpack 2017, the world’s leading international trade fair for the packaging sector and related processing industries, will take place from May 4 - 10, 2017 in Düsseldorf, Germany. This is where some 2,700 exhibitors from about 60 countries will offer a complete overview of the market - with machinery, products and solutions from the sectors of packaging technology, related processes and packaging materials - to 170,000 visitors from around the globe.

By the registration deadline, interpack 2017 recorded the highest exhibitor demand in its 55 year history, with exhibitors booking about 20% more space than is available at the exhibition center with its 2.8 million square feet in 19 halls. Held concurrently will be the special components trade fair, featuring products from the supplier industries of the packaging sector. This event is also fully booked, occupying more than twice as much space as at its premiere staging in 2014.

Despite the unrivalled size of the trade show, the layout is clear and systematic for easy orientation. Suppliers of processes and machinery for packaging food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, non-food consumer goods and industrial goods will occupy more than ten halls. Packaging materials and products  manufacturers can be found in five halls, while the area booked by suppliers of processes and machinery for confectionery and baked goods covers four halls. Visitors can look forward to state-of-the-art packaging and process technology, with many machines shown in full operation.

Key quality characteristics of interpack are also the elaborate booth designs complete with catering for business meetings, its unparalleled internationality with 66% of the visitors coming from 163 countries and the presence of high-ranking executives in the booths as well as among the visitors. At interpack’s last staging in 2014, 84% of the attendees were involved in their company’s decision-making process and 95% rated their participation as successful.

components trade fair held concurrently

The “components special trade fair by interpack” for upstream suppliers of machinery technology will return with a revised concept and new location. Hundreds of exhibitors will showcase their products on about 53,800 square feet in the temporary lightweight hall 18, centrally located between halls 10 and 16. The event is geared towards suppliers of drive, control and sensor equipment, products for industrial image processing, handling equipment, industrial software and communication as well as complete automation systems for packaging machinery.

The innovationparc will once again be held in a high-quality marquee between Halls 2 and 3.The third international SAVE FOOD Congress with the participation of its partner institutions The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) will be held on the first day of interpack 2017. www.save-food.org

Special topic: Industry 4.0 – in partnership with VDMA

The interpack 2017 exhibits will be complemented by several innovative specialist areas. Working together with the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), interpack 2017 will focus on Industry 4.0. This special show will be staged in form of a technology lounge at the VDMA stand, featuring examples of solutions in packaging machinery and process engineering to highlight new possibilities for applications in safety, traceability, copyright and counterfeit protection as well as in customized packaging.

Online services

www.interpack.com offers useful information to help visitors prepare and plan each day at the trade fair efficiently: the exhibitor database with the option of creating a personalized hall plan, a “matchmaking” function to contact exhibitors, news and special shows as well as hotel arrangements and cultural events in the city.
