Ingredion releases seventh annual Sustainability Update
Last week, Ingredion published its seventh annual Sustainability Update. The report highlights significant progress against its 2020 goals that its new corporate communication director, Becca Hary, has released.
A few call-outs from the report:
- Sustainably sourced 1.34 metric tons of crops in 2017
- Established goals to reduce water use intensity and carbon emission intensity by 10 percent by the end of 2020
- Sixty percent of all Ingredion’s manufacturing sites were ISO 14001 certified for environmental management
Ingredion’s president and CEO Jim Zallie authored a letter on page 4 where he states, “It is important that our efforts not only bring value to Ingredion, but also to the communities in which we operate.”
