CuliNex is pleased to announce the acquisition of more top talent.

Amanda Hobson has joined CuliNex as a culinologist, effective May 29th, 2018. Her culinary expertise and experience in R&D management is a valuable addition to the company. She will oversee benchtop development activities acting as development lead on projects. 

Amanda’s extensive culinary background includes development of prepared meals, sauces, frozen and filled pasta and hot beverage formulations. She acquired leadership skills as a manager of product development at Valley Fine Foods overseeing all areas of their launch and improvement processes. Amanda interned at Continental Mills in their R&D department after honing her pastry skills at The Bread Peddler: Artisan Bakeshop and Café in Olympia, WA. 

Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Culinology with a minor in Nutrition from Southwest Minnesota State University, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from The Evergreen State College, an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) from Seattle Central Community College, and an Associate of Arts (A.A.) from South Puget Sound Community College. She has been a professional member of the Research Chefs Association since 2014.

CuliNex is also pleased to announce the hiring of Taylor Walker. Taylor is joining CuliNex as technical services manager effective June 11th, 2018. Taylor joins the company with a strong background in innovation and food production. She will utilize her Food Safety and Food Processing skills to bring benchtop projects to full-scale production.

Taylor honed her commercialization and R&D management skills from her stints at Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Inc., Thermo Pac and FOCUS Brands. As a Graduate Assistant at the USDA Agricultural Research Service Center, she became HACCP Certified and gained expertise in nonthermal-antimicrobial processing treatments and sensory science testing. Taylor has a strong passion for food and an even stronger passion to continue enhancing CuliNex Quality Assurance and Commercialization practices.  

Taylor has a Master’s in Food Science and Technology from the University of Georgia, and a Bachelor’s in Human Nutrition from the University of Kentucky. She has been a professional member of the Institute of Food Technologists since 2011 and was a part of the IFT Emerging Leaders Network in 2017.
