Herr's announces leadership change
A third-generation family member will assume the role of CEO and president.

Herr Foods Inc., a family-owned snack food manufacturer, has announced a leadership transition effective September 1, 2025.
Ed Herr, who has served as CEO and chairman of the board, will move into the role of executive chairman. Troy Gunden, a third-generation family member, will assume the role of CEO and president.
Gunden has worked at Herr’s for 21 years, including six years as president. In his new role, he will oversee company operations.
“Leading Herr’s has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” says Ed Herr. “I am deeply proud of the growth we’ve achieved and the strong culture we’ve built together. With Troy’s leadership, I am confident Herr’s will continue to thrive for generations to come.”
As executive chairman, Herr will remain involved in long-term strategy, leadership development, and board governance.
“I am humbled and excited to step into this role,” says Troy Gunden. “Herr’s is more than a company—it’s a family, a legacy, and a commitment to our employees, customers, and community. I look forward to building on the foundation my grandparents and the second generation created.”
The transition reflects the company’s long-term succession planning and continued focus on operational continuity.
