Unifiller launches robot cake decorator
The automated HIRO system is designed for high-volume bakery operations.

Unifiller, a technology brand of Coperion, has introduced the HIRO Robot, a robotic cake decorator designed for manufacturers with high-volume production needs.
The HIRO automates tasks such as writing, drizzling, and creating custom designs. It features a washdown IP67 design and an intuitive user interface that allows users to store and recall cake design profiles. The system is NSF and EHEDG compliant, and is suited for hygienic, humid, and cold environments.
“Cake manufacturers can easily integrate the HIRO Robot into their existing or new decorating systems,” says Derek Lanoville, R&D manager. “It transforms bakery operations by reducing the strain, injuries, and burnout associated with repetitive decorating tasks while minimizing human error and contamination.”
The HIRO is designed for plug-and-play use and is compatible with various conveyor styles. It includes the SafeVisionary2 vision-based safety enclosure, six degrees of arm freedom, and a reach of one meter. The system offers repeatable movements with ±0.02 mm precision and a load capacity of up to 14 kg, enabling additional tasks such as depanning, pick and place, and palletizing.
