Mauna Loa Macadamia Nuts introduces Dill Pickle flavor
The launch responds to growing consumer interest in pickle-flavored snacks.

Mauna Loa Macadamia Nuts has introduced a new flavor, Dill Pickle Dry Roasted Macadamias. The variety combines dill and garlic seasoning with dry roasted macadamias and is now available at select retailers including Albertsons, Safeway, and Vons. Broader in-store and online distribution is planned for 2026.
The product is vegan, keto, and Kosher certified. It is the first of three new flavors planned by the brand, with Sea Salt & Vinegar and Pineapple Habanero varieties expected in early 2026.
According to Mauna Loa, the launch responds to growing consumer interest in pickle-flavored snacks. The company cites global research indicating that 63% of consumers express a positive sentiment toward the flavor.
“Mauna Loa has been fueling everyday adventures for more than 50 years, and we’re passionate about exciting consumers with bold new flavors that deliver paradise in every bite while staying true to our roots,” says Ed Schultz, president and CEO of Hawaiian Host Group, parent company of Mauna Loa.
The company reports that macadamias are the fastest-growing nut in U.S. households, and Mauna Loa is the fastest-growing brand in the category by dollar and unit sales. The brand’s innovation strategy is guided by consumer research and feedback, with a focus on flavor trends and clean-label attributes.
All new products are packaged using paperboard and corrugated materials made from post-consumer waste. Macadamia trees are drought-tolerant and require less water than other nut crops, such as almonds.
Mauna Loa macadamias are naturally plant-based, gluten-free, and high in monounsaturated fats. Each serving contains 4 g of carbohydrates, more omega-7 than any other nut, and six times the omega-3 content of almonds.
To support the launch, Mauna Loa is partnering with The Big Dill, a pickle-focused festival and community. Marketing efforts will include giveaways, gift bags, and social media activations.
