Applications open for ABA Champions Awards
The honor recognizes companies that make a positive impact.

The American Bakers Association (ABA) has opened applications for the 2026 Champions for a Better Tomorrow Awards, which recognize ABA member companies making a positive impact in their communities, workplaces, and the environment.
Launched at the 2025 ABA Annual Convention, the awards program highlights innovation, leadership, and commitment to progress across the commercial baking industry. The initiative supports ABA’s strategic plan by honoring companies that demonstrate purpose-driven action.
In its inaugural year, 25 companies were nominated, with six recognized across three categories.
“The Champions for a Better Tomorrow Awards highlight the incredible efforts of our member organizations to make a lasting impact,” says Ben Simpson, senior director of membership and growth at ABA. “Our mission is to elevate commercial baking as a destination workplace and showcase the powerful stories that inspire pride, progress, and purpose across the sector.”
Applications are due by Jan. 30, 2026. Winners will be announced at the 2026 ABA Annual Convention in April.
Award categories include:
- Community: Recognizes initiatives that support local communities through charitable programs, food insecurity solutions, volunteerism, partnerships, or social impact efforts.
- Workplace: Honors programs that promote employee development, well-being, company culture, or team engagement.
- Planet: Celebrates environmental initiatives such as waste reduction, clean-up efforts, sustainable transportation, zero-waste programs, or sustainability education.
