ADM unveils expanded stevia portfolio, new insights
The sugar substitute can produce sweetness with cost savings, the company says.

Bakery ingredients company ADM is unveiling new research on stevia, as well as SweetRight Stevia Echo, an expansion to its porfolio.
Stevia is being redefined as research and formulation advances unlock improved taste and performance, the company says. In its latest insights, ADM highlights stevia's evolution, including how it's emerging as a cornerstone of modern sugar reduction strategies, along with new consumer perceptions around stevia.
Building on this progress and insights, ADM is adding to its portfolio with the introduction of SweetRight Stevia Echo, a line of bioconverted stevia solutions which aims to amplify the value of the stevia leaf, producing premium sweetness quality with cost savings for brands to better meet their goals, the brand notes.
Bioconversion begins with the extraction of natural sweetening compounds from the stevia leaf, which then undergoes strategic enzymatic conversion of most prominent, major steviol glycosides (e.g., Reb A) to minor ones (e.g., Reb M) to produce the best-tasting steviol glycosides, ADM adds.
ADM research finds many consumers view stevia as a high-quality sweetening solution, the company says. It notes that consumers also value seeing "leaf" and "extract" on product labels, aligning with increased cleaner label demands across all food and beverage categories.
