Reading Bakery Systems expands its leadership in EMEA

The brand has announced key staff additions and transitions.

Reading Bakery Systems (RBS), supplier of bakery and snack production solutions, is strengthening its customer support and sales leadership across Europe and the Middle East (EMEA) with key additions and transitions that will enhance customer care, product line focus, and regional sales support, it says.

As part of this initiative, Andrew Walker has joined RBS as customer care manager, EMEA, reporting to Mike Palumbo, director of customer care. Based in the UK, Walker reportedly brings extensive experience in customer support leadership, technical field operations, and aftermarket growth across Europe. In his role, he will lead regional efforts to strengthen service responsiveness, strengthen parts support, and expand modernization and retrofit initiatives across RBS’s growing installed base.  

“Expanding our customer care presence in Europe is a critical step in delivering the level of service and long-term partnership our customers expect from RBS,” says Palumbo. “Andrew’s experience and leadership will play an important role as we continue to build a world-class global customer care organization.”  

In addition, David Welch has been promoted to director, biscuit, cookie, and cracker product line. In this role, Welch will lead technical sales strategy and product line development for RBS’s biscuit, cookie, and cracker systems. He will work closely with global sales teams and lead value engineering initiatives to enhance competitiveness, improve standardization, and drive long-term product performance.   

To support continued growth in the region, Marcus Hofmann has joined RBS as sales manager, Europe, succeeding Welch in this role. Hofmann brings significant experience in industrial bakery equipment sales and project management, including turnkey line development, technical sales, and customer project leadership. His background includes leadership roles with Miwe, Heuft Industry, König, and Fritsch Bakery Systems.  

“Marcus brings deep technical knowledge, strong customer relationships, and valuable experience managing complex bakery system projects,” says Joe Pocevicius, sales director, EMEA. “He will play a key role in supporting our customers across Europe and continuing to grow our presence in the region.”  

These organizational changes reflect RBS’s continued investment in strengthening its global team and enhancing customer support throughout the full lifecycle of its systems, the brand says.

“With a growing installed base and increasing demand for flexibility, performance, and sustainability, our customers expect more than equipment. They expect a long-term partner,” says Palumbo. “These leadership additions ensure we are positioned to deliver that level of support across Europe and beyond.”
