Fortifi completes acquisition of UK equipment company
The Deighton Manufacturing deal includes production capabilities for bakery.

Fortifi Food Processing Solutions, a food processing automation company, announced it has completed its acquisition of Deighton Manufacturing UK Ltd, a provider of forming, portioning, coating, and frying equipment. The acquisition reflects Fortifi's broader strategy to offer complete, full-line solutions that serve the needs of snack, bakery, and food processors of all sizes, it says.
“Deighton expands Fortifi’s capabilities in modular, flexible, and lower-throughput applications, broadening our reach to a wider range of food processors while complementing our expertise in large-scale processing,” says Massimo Bizzi, CEO of Fortifi. “Together with Nothum Food Processing Systems and Provisur Technologies, we now offer forming, coating, and thermal processing solutions across virtually every production environment.”
The Deighton acquisition includes production capabilities in the protein, fish, dairy, and bakery sectors for a broad range of food processing customers, with geographic coverage across the UK and Europe, and growth markets in Latin America, India, and Southeast Asia. Deighton joins Frontmatec, Provisur, and Wyma as the company’s fourth brand with a UK presence, expanding Fortifi’s local footprint and customer access in the market.
“Deighton strengthens Fortifi’s presence across the UK and Europe while adding a highly accessible product portfolio that aligns well with the needs of growth markets in Latin America, India, and Southeast Asia,” says Mark Dowdle, EVP of strategy and business development for Fortifi. “The acquisition expands our ability to support food processors across a broader range of production environments while accelerating our growth strategy in emerging markets.”
Deighton's continuous and batch processing equipment serves numerous types of consumer products, including cookies, appetizers, nuggets, burgers, appetizers, and international foods. “Deighton has always focused on delivering practical, high-performance systems that help customers improve efficiency, product quality, and operational flexibility,” says Andy Hamilton, managing director of Deighton Manufacturing. “As part of Fortifi, we are well positioned to build on that legacy with expanded global reach, stronger resources, and continued investment in innovation.”
Deighton employees now join Fortifi’s broad-based ownership program, which provides all employees with the opportunity to participate in the benefits of equity ownership.
