Product Snapshot: To celebrate National Peanut Butter Lovers Month, Portland-based startup Puffworks expands its snack line to include Puffworks baby organic peanut butter puffs. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommend introducing peanuts to infants starting as early as 4-6 months of age. The new guidance stems from the findings of The Learning Early About Peanut Allergies (LEAP) study, which showed up to an 86 percent reduction in the development of peanut allergy in infants who ate peanut food compared to those who did not.

"We all know someone who suffers from a peanut allergy and see first-hand how scary it can be," said Holly Sturdivan, director of marketing for Puffworks.
