Product Snapshot: Kontos Foods, Inc. is pleased to announce the newest addition to its 60+ varieties of flatbreads: Gorditas, handmade soft flatbread taco shells, perfect for filling with your favorite meat, cheese, salsa or sour cream. Kontos, a U.S.- based manufacturer and distributor of traditional artisan breads and Mediterranean specialty foods, will be unveiling the Gorditas at the National Restaurant Association Show 2019, the International Foodservice Marketplace, on its 100^th Anniversary. 

Like most of Kontos flatbreads, Gorditas contain No Trans Fats, are 100 percent vegetarian, Certified Kosher-Pareve (Pas Yisroel) and Halal. They come packed 6/10 – 19.70 oz to a case, and they require minimal amount of heating for added flexibility. Gorditas literally mean “chubby” in Spanish and describe a sandwich stuffed with meat, cheese or other fillings. 

“We’re pleased to roll out our latest product at the 100^thanniversary NRA Show, the epicenter of restaurant innovation,” said Steve Kontos, president of Kontos Foods. “Our Gorditas are made with only the freshest ingredients; they are perfect for filling with meat or beans and cheese, salsa, eggs and chorizo, or any variety of meat or veggie fillings.”

The NRA show is a must-stop on Kontos’ trade show tour, Kontos added. “It allows us to maintain relationships with foodservice and restaurant buyers and meet new vendors,” he said. “Making these one-on-one connections is a central part of our strategy.”
