McKee Foods Corp., the new owner of the iconic brand, says it’s launching four popular Drake’s snack cake varieties next week—Devil Dogs, Coffee Cakes, Ring Dings and Yodels.
Consumers in the Northeast will soon be able to again enjoy Devil Dogs, Ring Dings and other Drake’s products, as McKee Foods Corp., the new owner of Drake’s, prepares to bring back the snack cakes in September.
Irving, Texas-based Hostess Brands Inc. made its final contract offer to certain union members that included lowering wages and commissions by 8% in the contract's first year, according to a report in The Washington Post. Hostess also is considering selling its Merita brand of breads available in the Southeast.
It can be rather tough for sweet goods products these days. The huge movement to better-for-you items hasn’t exactly been good news and a smooth fairway for this category.
