This week's Fun Friday kicks off with a foodservice chain, Bojangles, launching its inaugural Bo-Berry Week.

Bojangles' National Bo-Berry Week is a five-day celebration of all things Bo-Berry, the platform that’s grown from the chain’s original Bo-Berry Biscuits. Taking place through May 9, the week-long initiative features the return of the Sausage Bo-Berry Biscuits and Bo-Berry Cookies, accompanied by daily deals, online store merch drops, surprise and delight visits to Smart Cookie students with Carolina Panthers’ Quarterback Bryce Young, and a $150,000 donation announcement to Greg Olsen’s The HEARTest Yard Foundation.

Returning this year as a limited time offering, the Sausage Bo-Berry Biscuit blends sweet and savory, bringing together country-style sausage and made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits stuffed with sweet Bo-Berries, all topped with a touch of sweet icing. Another classic, the Bo-Berry Cookie—a fresh baked sugar cookie stuffed with Bo Berries—returns to menus this week as another limited-edition treat.

New offers will drop each day, redeemable in the Bojangles app with a unique promo code. The deal for Friday, May 9 is BOGO Sausage Bo-Berry Biscuits (Promo code: BOBERRY5).

To kick off National Bo-Berry Week, Bojangles and Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young will surprise two Charlotte-area schools with Bo-Berry Cookie parties for high-achieving students. The “Smart Cookie” surprises are a part of The Bojangles Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting education and literacy initiatives in the communities Bojangles serves—efforts also championed by Young and his continued work with youth athletes on and off the field.

Palermo Villa, Kellanova release Cheez-It frozen pizzas

Palermo Villa, Inc., purveyor of frozen pizzas, and Kellanova's Cheez-It snack brand are partnering to bring Cheez-It Frozen Pizza to life: a 12-inch, ultra-thin, and crispy Original Cheez-It flavored crust made with 100% real cheese.

Cheez-It Frozen Pizza is available now for a suggested retail price of $6.99-$9.99 and can be found at select retailers nationwide, including Kroger, Ahold, H-E-B, Winn-Dixie, Wegman’s, and Food City. Product rollout begins in May and will widely expand by August.

Goldfish debuts "Be Like Goldfish" campaign with Saturday Night Live star

This spring, Campbell Snacks' Goldfish brand is introducing the “Be Like Goldfish” campaign with the help of actor and comedian Ben Marshall to celebrate the fish-shaped snack and serve as a humorous reminder to everyone that they too can channel the spirit and energy of Goldfish. 

A series of playful spots will follow Marshall through everyday mishaps—each time with Goldfish by his side, cheering him on and reminding him not to sweat the small stuff. Consumers can catch the campaign across cable, top streaming platforms like Peacock, YouTube (here and here), and Hulu, and on social platforms including Meta, TikTok, and Pinterest.

In coordination with the new campaign rollout, Goldfish is updating its packaging across the entire product portfolio to inject even more personality into how the brand shows up on-shelf while delivering a cohesive and modernized look and feel to broaden appeal. The playful, optimistic spirit of “Be Like Goldfish” pulls through to shelves in this refresh. 


Ruiz Foods launches Cinco de Mayo campaign

During the recent 36th annual Cinco de Mayo Festival in Denver, Ruiz Foods was a sponsor of the Chihuahua races. As part of the campaign to leverage its sponsorship, the company did a pre-event promotion and signed the “World’s First Major Pro Sports Contract for Chihuahua Athletes.” The campaign included imagery of Chihuahuas signing their contracts and holding a press conference to make the announcement. 

During the event, 59 Chihuahuas, in several heats, competed against each other racing on a 25-foot-long track. For the second year in a row, a black Chihuahua named Tino “The Bambino” emerged victorious. This burrito-sized competitor was not paid in real cash, but in dog incentives. Tino was awarded a branded uniform and a $100 Petco gift card, while its owner received a year’s worth of El Monterey frozen burritos.


Werther's Original introduces Golden Stories Contest for Mother's Day

Some of life's most treasured moments are the ones passed down through generations. That's why this spring, Storck's Werther's Original brand, purveyor of caramels, is creating a brand new contest: Werther's Original Golden Stories. This contest brings the power of multi-generational family bonds with an opportunity for people to have their cherished family memories turned into a personalized, illustrated keepsake. 

Just like a Werther's Original passed from one loved one to another, these stories are the threads that connect generations. Werther's Original Golden Stories celebrates family memories, preserving them with the same warmth as its caramels. The book becomes a treasured piece of lasting legacy—one that can be passed down through generations, much like the candy itself—and inspires meaningful moments of togetherness along the way.

Until Monday, May 26, consumers can visit WerthersGoldenStories.com and choose from four prompts designed to capture the heart of their favorite story. Entrants must submit a 250-400 word story—which will be translated and shortened into storybook format—accompanied by photos, to be considered to win. Submissions will be graded against specific judging criteria that emphasizes originality, clarity, and alignment with Werther's Original brand themes of generational connection, heartfelt moments, and sharing sweetness.

The top 20 first place winners will receive a custom print storybook keepsake, with the 25 second place winners receiving an e-book version of their personalized storybook. While inspired by the spirit of Mother's Day, this contest is for anyone who has played a meaningful role in a family story—from grandparents and siblings to lifelong friends.
