After more than 50 years, Nothum Food Processing Systems, a Fortifi company, is entering a new chapter of leadership. Philip Hurwitz, previously director of sales, will succeed Robert Nothum, who has long served as president and CEO. Hurwitz will report to Josh Stiever, Fortifi group president, protein tools and equipment.
“The Nothum family has built a legacy of excellence,” says Hurwitz. “As we look to the future, we will continue to sharpen our focus on our customers—understanding their needs, addressing their challenges, and delivering solutions that move their businesses forward. Our continued investment in innovation, both in technology and in how we serve the market, will ensure Nothum remains a trusted partner positioned for long-term growth and leadership.”
“This strategic direction marks a strong path forward for our company and our customers,” says Nothum. “It creates a clear opportunity to build on the values and innovations that have defined our impact on the industry, and to carry them into the future with strength and purpose.”
Robert Nothum, Ryan Nothum, and Bradly Nothum will transition into advisory roles with the company, remaining actively engaged by sharing their expertise, drawing on past experience to help shape future growth, and offering strategic guidance to the leadership team and Fortifi CEO Massimo Bizzi. The Nothums will work closely with Hurwitz to complete an effective leadership transition by August 1.
