Harvest Snaps debuts updated packaging, new flavors

Crunchy Loops Original and Zesty Ranch join the brand's lineup.

Calbee America is making updates to its flagship brand Harvest Snaps. With more consumers seeking healthier snacking options and shopping in the produce aisle, the brand felt it was time to better highlight what this core brand is all about, the company says.

Harvest Snaps are made with farm-picked green peas, red lentils, or navy beans as the first ingredient. This is what inspired the addition of a prominent “Made with Real Veggies” seal, plus protein and fiber callouts on the front and back to aim to differentiate the brand from the competition. The word “crispy” has been added, and a graphic shares how Harvest Snaps starts with whole legumes and mills them in house. In addition, Harvest Snaps’ sub brand, Crunchy Loops, is receiving a packaging refresh to represent the products’ connection to family, fun, and nostalgia, the company notes.

New and updated flavors are also being added. Harvest Snaps Zesty Ranch will replace the brand’s Wasabi Ranch and Mango Chili Lime will be made with red lentils instead of black beans. In addition, a new Crunchy Loops Original flavor will feature a blend of seasoning and provide 4 g of protein and 2 g of fiber per serving. All new launches, which are certified both Non-GMO and gluten free, are now available for retailers nationwide to order and planned to hit stores in August. New packaging for the full lineup will be rolling onto shelves through October.
