The Netflix show Wednesday is returning for season two on August 6, and Frito-Lay's Cheetos brand is launching a new flavor in its honor: Flamin’ Hot Fiery Skulls. The exclusive Wednesday-inspired packaging will be available on store shelves on July 28.
The new flavor was co-created with Thing, the disembodied hand and breakout star of Netflix’s Wednesday, the snack brand says. Cheetos—the brand reportedly known for sponsoring the Cheetle-covered fingertips of celebrities who are leaving their mark on the world—has signed Thing to be the new "face" (fingertips) of the brand.
“Stirring up a little trouble is what our annual Cheetos fingertip sponsorships are all about—and this year, we’re turning up the mischief with the ultimate partner in crime, Wednesday’s Thing,” says Tina Mahal, SVP of marketing at PepsiCo Foods U.S. “Cheetos fans love a good plot twist, and since many of them see themselves as Wednesday-style outcasts, we knew this chaotic, funny, and perfectly unexpected collab would be a hit just in time for season two.”
