BakeAway has installed a WR4 Wraparound Robotic Case Packer from Bradman Lake as part of a packaging line upgrade. The system was ordered in 2024 and commissioned in February 2025.
BakeAway specializes in chilled dough products, including puff pastry, filo pastry, pastry blocks, pancakes, pizza bases, and cookie dough. The company required a case packing solution that could support high throughput while offering flexibility and ease of use.
The WR4 system features robotic loading and automatic size change, packing up to 100 cartons per minute. It replaces BakeAway’s previous setup with a more compact and efficient solution designed to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
“From first contact with Michael, Bradman Lake’s sales manager, to planning, design, build, FAT, and after-sales support, the case packer we have at BakeAway is exceptional,” says Tim Embleton, head of operations at BakeAway. “All the teams at Bradman Lake had great knowledge and couldn’t be more helpful.”
“This is a fantastic win for Bradman Lake and a brilliant opportunity to support BakeAway in achieving its production goals,” says Michael Rice, sales manager for the project.
The installation marks BakeAway’s first collaboration with Bradman Lake and reflects its continued investment in automation and operational efficiency.
