IOI Loders Croklaan, a producer of palm-based fats and oils to the global food industry, achieved SQF–Level 3 Certification for its Channahon, IL, facility. It encompasses the entire facility, including the full production, warehouse, pilot plant and recently constructed Creative Studio.

Achieving an “excellent” rating, IOI Loders Croklaan has earned a certification that demonstrates its ongoing commitment to quality. The Level 3 certification builds upon the SQF–Level 2, earned annually since 2011. Level 3 is defined by SQF as having excellence in both Food Safety and Quality.

The Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI) is recognized by retailers and foodservice providers around the world that require a credible food-safety management system. SQF is the only certification program outside Europe recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) that links primary production certification to food manufacturing, distribution and agent/broker management certification.

“This certification embodies the overall focus on quality which is a hallmark of our entire organization,” says Tim Surin, director of sales and marketing. “SQF–Level 3 is an accomplishment which immediately communicates quality, safety and reliability to the market and to our customers.”

“Achieving this certificate assures our customers safe, quality food is being manufactured throughout the ideation phase and into finished products,” says Linda McLaren, quality assurance manager.

Level 3 Certification expands beyond assuring food safety by including a quality standard that verifies IOI Loders Croklaan’s ability to provide customers with highest quality products throughout the entire production process.

“Achieving SQF–Level 3 Certification verifies the commitment to quality, safety and reliability which translates to confidence for our customers,” says Bill Troy, chief operating officer. “Supplying the highest quality products that protect the value of our customers’ brands is paramount and what our customer expects.”
