CrackersIngredient Snapshot: Food manufacturers looking to provide long-chain omega-3s (EPA and DHA) in their products can now do so with an oil blend from Cargill Inc. made with high-oleic sunflower oil produced from identity-preserved (IdP), conventionally bred (non-GMO) high-oleic sunflower seeds, fish oil and proprietary antioxidants. IngreVita High Oleic Sunflower and EPA/DHA Omega-3 Oil (IngreVita HO Sun), the company’s latest and second IngreVita product, is stored at ambient temperature, is easy to use, offers good shelf stability and does not introduce off-flavors. Applications include bread and crackers.
