Equipment Snapshot: Designed for packaging foods, consumer products and numerous other products, MGS Machine Corp.’s new Pulse high-speed friction feeder feeds paper, cardstock, chipboard, corrugated, glassine, labels, multifold coupons and booklets, and dispenses them to a flat-belt or flighted conveyor or into a target component like an open carton. It also handles packaging dividers, backer boards, inserts and other flat stackable products that measure 2 inches by 2.5 inches to 12 inches by 16 inches. The Pulse features a single-sided design that gives operators complete accessibility to friction belts, the friction meter wheel and the drive belt for fast, tool-less replacement of parts and clearing of product jams or misfeeds. It comes with a horizontal discharge, batch counting capability and a standard conveyor mount for easy integration with a variety of host machines. Options include a vertical placement module, U-board folding module, discharge extension and floor stand with optional castor wheels. Standard construction incorporates a sanitary design suitable for most bakery applications, according to the company.
